Our story

From one data grid to a reporting platform

Syncfusion started in 2001 with eight employees and a single data grid control. The mission was straightforward: make enterprise-grade developer tools accessible to teams of every size, not just those with six-figure tooling budgets.

Over the next two decades, that one component grew into Essential Studio, a suite of more than 1,600 controls for web, mobile, and desktop development. The team grew to over 2,000 people across offices in Research Triangle Park, NC, Chennai, India, and Kisumu, Kenya. The customer base expanded from individual developers to Fortune 500 enterprises, financial institutions, healthcare systems, and government agencies worldwide.

We built Bold Reports because organizations migrating from legacy reporting tools needed a modern, web-native platform that understood RDL compatibility, multi-tenant deployment, and the realities of embedding reports into production applications.

In 2011, we shipped our first reporting components inside Essential Studio. By 2015, we had a standalone Report Server. By 2019, Bold Reports launched as its own dedicated product, bringing together everything we had learned about enterprise reporting into a purpose-built platform for embedded, self-service, and enterprise reporting. That is what we do, still.
